The Study Celebrates 103rd Birthday!

On Founder's Day 2018, The Study celebrated it's 103rd birthday! Head Girl Delila Farias's speech was inspirational as she addressed Study girls current and old. The celebration ended with students enjoying delicious celebratory cupcakes!  While The Study's birthday cake was ceremonially cut by our youngest Kindergarten student with help from the most senior Old Girl that attended the birthday celebration! The honour this year went to Marigold (Savage) Hyde '48 and Chloe Arae '30 (daughter of Zainab Jamali '93). Happy 103rd Birthday to The Study!

The Study bestowed the prestigious Judy Elder Alumna Award to Jane Yuile from the class of 1973. In Jane's powerful speech, delivered via a prerecorded video from Australia where she lives, she explained how the memory of Judy Elder inspired her to "get back on the horse" after her tragic accident and continue to excel in her career even as a recovering quadriplegic.

While Jane is rehabilitating from a very serious accident last fall, with the support of her husband Ian and their two children, she continues to work with great bravery, stoicism, patience and humour. Jane has more than 40 years’ experience in business and is currently the State Chair of ANZ Bank, South Australia, Chair of  ReturnToWork, South Australia, and recent past Chair of the technology company Prime Q. She is Director of Adelaide Airport and the Art Gallery of South Australia.

Jane, like Judy Elder, whom she knew, is an ambitious and successful, yet humble, business leader who is dedicated to public service and mentorship.
